Short bio

Qinghuai Ren completed her undergraduate and master's studies at the University of Freiburg and Freie Universität Berlin respectively. Her master’s thesis focused on the implementation of COVID-19 policies in Chinese cities, analyzing the negotiation processes between the public and the state during the policy implementation phase.

Currently, Qinghuai Ren is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Zurich, under the supervision of Dr. Peter Finke, with co-supervision by Professor Christoph Brumann from the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology. Since 2023, she has been engaged in research that primarily explores themes of social mobility and social conflict.
