Religion and politics, conflict transformation and mediation, dialogue and reconciliation, free churches, and Protestantism.

The Dissertation will focus on Switzerland. Past areas of work and research are Pakistan, Myanmar, Morocco, and Sahel.

Anaël Jambers’ current socio-anthropological research focusses on free churches in Switzerland, their relations with the secular majority of the Swiss society, the state and with other churches. She is a mediator by training and recently created her firm “Trijalog. Mediation and Transformation. LLC”. She has more than ten years of experience in peace policy and international development working for both the FDFA and several NGOs. She has specialised on the role of religion and religious actors in conflict transformation and has accompanied and facilitated dialogue processes with actors from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the Sahel and North Africa.

She obtained her bachelor's degree in ethnology, bible sciences and political sciences at UZH before completing her Master’s degree in Development Studies at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. Her Master's thesis was entitled “Presence Evangelism in the Land of the Pure”: A Case Study of the Role of Spirituality in Development Practices”.
