For this 2-day workshop, we are interested in discussing examples of how creativity and innovation work on the ground in different parts of the world. We would like to invite scholars whose papers introduce conceptual thoughts and/or empirical views on actors, practices and discourses in innovation and creativity for development.
In 2024, ISEK - Social and Cultural Anthropology offered two summer schools and a field research.

Barbara Čurda is currently a visiting fellow at the ISEK - Department of Social Anthropology and Cultural Studies. Her research interests comprise gender, corporeal practices, dance, the related question of heritage, and the intersections of the question of knowing or know-how with inequalities.
Annisa Hartoto is currently a visiting fellow at ISEK - Department of Social Anthropology and Cultural Studies at the University of Zürich, where she will take on the role of a Postdoctoral Researcher starting in 2024.

Russell Zanca’s purpose in Zurich is to work with Prof. Finke and others to develop a long-term research proposal for a project in Kazakhstan focused on pastoralism and the country’s human-ecological interface given increasingly perilous climactic conditions. Ahmad Wali Ahmad Yar is currently a visiting researcher at UZH – ISEK Chair Prof. Peter Finke until mid-April and will predominantly work on the HumMingBird project on migration, where UZH – ISEK is also a partner.
UZH-News: In der «Benin Initiative Schweiz» haben sich acht Schweizer Museen zusammengeschlossen, um im Austausch mit Nigeria die Herkunftsbiografien ihrer Sammlungen aus dem Königreich Benin zu untersuchen. Vertreten ist auch das Völkerkundemuseum der UZH.
