Sneha Banerjee has joined the ISEK from 1 September 2017 – 31 August 2018, as a post doctoral fellow with the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship. She completed her PhD at the Centre for Comparative Politics and Political Theory, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India. She was a University Grants Commission Junior Research Fellow (UGC-JRF) from 2010-15 during her doctoral studies. Sneha has also taught Political Science to undergraduate students at the University of Delhi during 2012-13. Before joining ISEK, she was with a New Delhi based feminist organisation, Sama Resource Group for Women and Health as a Project Coordinator (July 2016 - July 2017). At Sama, she was involved broadly with research and advocacy on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and particularly with Assisted Reproductive Technologies & surrogacy.

Sneha's doctoral research focused on the emergence of the phenomenon of commercial surrogacy in India as an industry. Her post doctoral work at the ISEK, would explore the way Science and entrepreneurship together created a globalised market for reproduction since the innovation of In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) in the 1970s. Her research would probe how reproductive technologies have emerged in the transnational market from the early stages of their development by focusing on the transnational flows between UK, Switzerland and India.
